23A015 Taste, Choice and Bugs by Jim Davies, 4/11/2023
Aldo Buttazzoni has a rare ability to conduct street interviews on camera, in a pointed yet inoffensive way, and recently he made one in Los Angeles in which passers-by, all of them in their 20s, were asked "Would you eat bugs, if that would help the environment?" Here's the 5-minute result. I was astonished by the replies. They varied, but one young man said yes, he'd have no problem at all. Others were more reluctant, but only one said (as I would) "Absolutely not, no way." Aldo showed them all a plastic baggie of live crickets, and offered each a slice of bread, baked fresh that day with dead ones. Most of the interviewees accepted and ate the slice. Y-u-c-k. The background is that Klaus Schwab, chairman of the World Economic Forum, has stated that the world is running out of food and as human population increases past the 8-billion mark, to grow more would be unsustainable; and therefore, humanity should change instead to the consumption of insects - which do, apparently, have a suitable mix of proteins and other goodies our bodies need. The sting in the tail is that the WEF intends, if it can, to make the diet change mandatory, as part of its Great Reset; with enforcement by its member governments. 2030 is the year the WEF intends to launch its Reset, after hammering humanity with a series of disasters to reduce our resistance and increase our subordination; the first was the Covid Scam and the second is under way right now, placing us all on the brink of nuclear war. Mr Schwab keeps a bust of Lenin on a shelf in his office, so there is no question of his being a benefactor exuding goodwill towards men. It's amazing, but three decades after communism was dead and buried, it has resurrected in this odious form. Unless you and I take action, within a decade the human race will have descended into the nightmares of Orwell, Huxley and Bradbury. Enter any supermarket, and you will see before you over 50,000 different food items presented attractively to stimulate purchase. None of them consists of bugs. There are several which I personally find distasteful; scallops for one, oysters for another. Yet some people (you, perhaps) regard those seafoods as delicious, as rare treats perhaps. And some things I like a lot (eg mushrooms) are not favored at all by a certain young lady I know. Tastes differ. Of course! That's one of the wonders of the free market. Every taste is catered for, or nearly so, by those 50,000+ items on the shelves. If there were a demand for insects, cans of them would certainly be made available - because the vendor likes money. But there isn't, so he doesn't. Customer choice relates directly to retailer profit. Freedom of choice is paramount, and so the customer is always king. Such freedom is anathema to the academic élite who imagine their purpose is to dictate what humans shall do, and the political pals of Mr Schwab are not the first to screech about coming shortages of food; Thomas Malthus, in the 18th Century, had that distinction. There were then about one billion humans on Earth, and he reasoned that they would reproduce faster than food could be grown. His figures were fine. His great error lay in his premise; he presumed that then-existing techniques of agriculture could not be improved. He was spectacularly wrong, and so is Klaus Schwab. Schwab's premise is, even so, slightly different. The Great Resetters don't argue that more food cannot be grown, but that it should not be grown; their appeal is to save "the environment." Hence the way Buttazzoni framed his questions to passers-by. And to me the real shocker is that all of them accepted that premise! They had been so fully indoctrinated, by 12 years of government schooling and probably 4 more in government-subsidized (and so, -controlled) college that they were willing even to eat bugs if that would "help the environment"! Given that the environment is actually extremely robust and takes little note if any of what the human race may choose to do, that is amazing and ominous. Folks, we are in a race. A deadly race, with the enormously rich and beneficial survival and expansion of our species at stake. The sinister, supra-government outfit chaired by Klaus Schwab is running fast right now, spurred by ample funds from would-be world rulers. You and I are trailing, and time is short. We can pass them and win, but not by sitting idle. BTW, my Home Page is headed "Liberty Banquet." No insect is on the menu. |
