25A003 Peace, Partially, Probably by Jim Davies, 1/21/2025
Wars will take place for as long as governments persist. That doesn't mean every government will always be at war (though since it began the US one has come close) but that somewhere, it's unlikely that a year will pass without two or more governments fighting each other. Or at the least, that some wannabe governments will challenge the one(s) in power. War is what they do; and that's a big reason why this blog favors zeroizing the lot of them. ![]() Even so, I'm optimistic that one current war, which I call the War of Russian Independence, will end very shortly. The Biden Gang bust a gut trying (for no good reason I could detect) to wear down Russia - by steadily increasing the number of US nuclear-tipped bases around its patch, by embargoing trade and by using Ukraine as a proxy to divert its resources into needless conflict. Now, that Gang has expired, not a day too soon, and is replaced by the Trump Team which has set its reputation on bringing that war to a rapid end. All being well he'll succeed, and I've sent him a few suggestions to help. The other nasty war going on is in Gaza, and Trump may have less success there because of his strong family ties to the Israeli cause. That cause is nowhere near as bad as the Rent-a-Mob crowds on American and other campuses allege, but to broker a peace one needs empathy for both sides, and Hamas is hard to like. He has, though, made a good start with the cease-fire last week. It's also puzzling. I've sought answers to the following questions for quite a while now, but none of the knee-jerk Jew-haters out there have given me the courtesy of a reply - presumably because they have none. If any reader can throw light on any, please cast it my way (use the "about" link below.)
All of these are puzzling, though I can see a possible answer to #1: the 10/7/23 rampage was intended to provoke a suicidal war that would discredit Jews. So, far from being impossible to win, it has already succeeded. And the Gazan population is cooperating with its de-facto government because from early childhood all its people have been conditioned to see their lives' purpose as "to kill Jews." Q5 is of particular interest; Arabs living in the area called "Palestine" bitterly oppose the post-1945 flood of incoming Jews, but do they resent Jews as Jews, or because the UN set up a Jewish state to govern the area? If it's the latter, an obvious way to restore peace would be to abolish Israel as a nation-state, while if it's the former it's hard to see any way to eradicate the hatred. It's worth noting that despite the sharp differences in religion Muslims have not been as hostile to Jews over the centuries as have the "Christian" countries of Europe; so I think as well as hope that the answer to Q5 is that it's mainly the state they hate. However it's not at all likely that the FedGov, even with peacemaker Trump at the helm, will advise Netanyahu to dissolve the Knesset and go clean out of business; for that to happen, only the "TOLFA Method" will work, in Israel as everywhere else - even Gaza, to answer Q6. That may take a bit longer. So there are two of the world's government wars, with good hope that the most dangerous of them will end shortly. The other is more iffy, though Israeli thoroughness will probably prevail at some time, hopefully this year. Then some other squabble will spring up. As long as governments exist and thirst for power, slaughters will continue and human progress will be delayed. There is no rational alternative to a zero government society.
